MARCH
2010
The Hapsburg Dynasty
(postponed from July/August and December)
Michelle Inglesby writing as Eliza Knight
Dates: March 1 - 29, 2010
 |
Michelle
Inglesby writes historical romance under
the pen name Eliza Knight. She has been
an avid fan of the Tudor dynasty for about
fifteen years. In fact she came up with
the pen name Eliza after her favorite
real life heroine, Elizabeth I. Michelle
runs a blog History Undressed, where she
discusses the not so known but wildly
fascinating facts of history. While not
avidly, reading, writing and researching,
she is taking care of two beautiful daughters
and living with her own knight in shining
armor. |
Synopsis
The House of Hapsburg is a long line, having
ruled in several countries from around 1100
all the way up until just after 1900. However
they are most well known for having ruled
Spain, The Holy Roman Empire, Austria and
various other countries from about 1273
and 1740. For the purposes of this workshop,
we will concentrate on that timeline and
those specific countries. The house is said
to have died out from continually marrying
within their own line, otherwise known as
inbreeding.
There will be four lessons during this course,
listed below. There will be open discussions
throughout the workshop. At the end of each
lesson there is an assignment.
